We recently purchased an xg-1540 and have moved to production with it. The issue that has come up is that on power on it won't boot. It will get stuck at the f1 boot menu. After a reboot it will boot right up. As I mentioned on a previous post in the store hardware thread this is concerning in case of a full power outage the firewall would not come back up.

I'm trying to get as much information as possible before I submit a support request as we have 1 incident left. Please let me know what other information I can provide.

Congratulations, would be a strong appliance for pfSense.

Generally or after a power outage, split or break? What is the boot medium where pfSense was installed on?

It will get stuck at the f1 boot menu. After a reboot it will boot right up.

Could it be that the pfSense was not proper shut down before?

As I mentioned on a previous post in the store hardware thread this is concerning in case of a full power outage the firewall would not come back up.

This could be as a reaction of the power outage and write issues on the medium or in the file system!

I really would consider to set up a APC UPS to handle that power outage and the perhaps failing file system
based on that issue. Perhaps something in the size of APC Smart UPS 1000VA or 1500VA 1U rack mount for
something about ~450 € or ~550 € this might be perhaps better then waiting for what is going on in that case.

That's not something we'd charge an incident for. Get in touch via support once you've gathered what data you can.
