I have a small home-server and I'm trying to setup pfSense since my current router doesn't offer much security/firewall features. The problem is my ISP supplies a router/modem combo. So to connect pfSense to my router without causing problems; is it possible to set up DMZ on my wifi-modem and point it at my pfsense IP address.

does your modem/router support a dmz host function where you put in an IP, then yes just put in the IP address you assign to pfsense wan.

if was me I would look to put that isp device in bridge mode, turn off its wifi and setup your own wifi behind pfsense.

Even if you can not put that device in bridge mode where pfsense gets public on its wan, I would most likely still turn off its wifi and setup your own behind pfsense, or your most likely going to have issues with wifi talking to your wired stuff that you want to allow, since you would have create port forwards on pfsense to allow that traffic in..  And that would just be PITA for something as simple setting up your own wifi behind pfsense.

I got my ISP to put their router in bridged mode,  now it just acts as a cable modem in front of pfsense.

My ISP attempted to hide the bridged mode setting using the CSS file for their web interface. ???
            Like I said, attempted. ;)
