Mbmon on P4 1.7 cpu
-
I installed the package and i loaded the modules that were missing but i still get 0 at all my sensors.Do you know if i must add other cpu monitor package for this old proccesor?
Thanks. -
How are you reading the sensors? You may have a superIO chip that mbmon doesn't recognise.

I used:
$> pkg_add -r mbmon
the went to /boot/kernel
$> kldload ichsmb
$> kldload smb
$> mbmonAnd i get all 0.
I hope there was a way to get the temp for this old processor.

What does mbmon -p show?
Steve

I tried all the chips that i can see as a parameter and on g152 i got 0 on temp, voltage etc.The first chipsets show no hardware found.
-
Hmm, perhaps I meant 'mbmon -d'.
What is the superio chip on your board?
Steve

with mbmon -d i get :
Using SMBus-ioctl access method[Intel I8XX(ICH/ICH2/ICH3/ICH4/ICH5/ICH6)]!!
*Analog Dev. Chip ADM1025 found. -
And after finding that chip it still doesn't report anything useful? :-\
You could try the healthd package instead.
I just assumed that you have nothing useful from acpi.
sysctl hw.acpi

Thanks a lot for you help.I installed the healthd package tried all the parameters and i also get wrong temps.
I actually get 255.0 as a cpu temp. :P
Well this ADM1025 is way too old to be monitored.Even the bios dont have a monitor utility.Anyway thanks a lot for your help.
Friendly Nick.
