Upgraded from 2.2.6 to 2.3 in less than 10 minutes last night with no issues.  Atom D525, 64 bit.

Still finding my way around the new menus, but the box is fast and stable.

        Nice job devs!

Upgrade 2.2.6 to 2.3 went without a problem. 8 ipsec site-to-site tunnels, snort, pfblockerNG and freeradius. Everything working ok after update. Thank you all that worked/tested/contributed in some way to make pfSense amazing.

Wish I could send you all a beer. 8)

Upgraded today from 2.2.6 to 2.3 on a Zotac mini computer and so far everything appears to be working fine.  Snort and OpenDNS are really the only things extra that I'm using and both are working ok.  New interface is interesting…might take some time to get used it after all these years with the older one.

The only oddities I noticed was a message about layer 7 traffic shaping no longer supported. Going to need to look into to that as I was using it before.  And the RRD traffic graphs no longer being available.  I really liked having one page where I could see my traffic utilization from hours to years nicely represented.  Also from another thread, I too would like to see the total amount of transferred data brought back to the graph section.  This was handy to compare my usage vs what my ISP tells me.

            Good job everyone!

Upgraded to 2.3 from 2.2.6 in minutes without issues. New UI will take some time getting familiar with it. No packages installed to date. PIA works like a charm.

              Thanks.

Do not be afraid to fail.

Upgraded from 2.2.6 to 2.3 with no issues.  Was a little hesitant to upgrade after seeing some of the issues some were having after upgrading but decided what the hey, go for it.

The new UI is going to take some getting use to.  My system is pretty generic with only a couple packages installed so hopefully it will work with no issues.

Good job guys with the upgrade.

                Thanks.

Edit:  One day after upgrading to 2.3, I'm having network connectivity issues.  They are intermittent.  Not sure if this is related to 2.3 or not but did not have these issues with 2.2.6.

I am going back to 2.2.6 for now.  It was stable.  I guess as they always say, if it ain't broke don't fix it.  I'm not that software knowledgeable and don't have another hard drive with a working version so I can change back to so that I can post to this forum, so I can't help the folks figure out what might be wrong.  I saw other comments of similar issues when 2.3 was first released so I'll wait till someone else figures the problem out.

                Thanks.

Very smooth upgrade from 2.2.6. I had been testing the RCs and expected to do a complete rebuild like I did when moving from 2.1.x to 2.2.x; turned out to be unnecessary.  Great job to all involved in this release.

Packages correctly updated were squid, squidguard, snort, cron, open vmtools.  OpenVPN connection transitioned without a hitch.

                      Hi all.

This post to confirm a 2.2.6 -> 2.3 migration on a pfsense ALIX based appliance.

From a functional pov, all is good :)

However, looking at the system logs indicate that there are a couple of issues behind the scenes :

                      • nginx: 2016/04/14 16:28:49 [error] 27749#0: 3377 upstream timed out (60: Operation timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: , server: , request: "GET /widgets/widgets/system_information.widget.php?getupdatestatus=1 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php-fpm.socket", host: "", referrer: "https://***/"

                      • /widgets/widgets/system_information.widget.php: / File system is dirty.

                      • /widgets/widgets/system_information.widget.php: The command '/sbin/mount -u -w -o sync,noatime /' returned exit code '1', the output was 'mount: /dev/ufs/pfsense0: Device busy'

                      • /widgets/widgets/system_information.widget.php: The command '/sbin/mount -u -w -o sync,noatime /' returned exit code '1', the output was 'mount: /dev/ufs/pfsense0: Operation not permitted'

Might be related to NanoBSD versions but not sure

I upgraded a NetGate box yesterday and had no problems with the actual upgrade process - however for some reason the upgrade to 2.3 added a couple of new packages to the system … my first thought was WTF - sneaking some extra packages in during an upgrade is not good policy so I killed them both.

Now, about the new interface - I guess it looks good on a iPhone? ... I'm trying very hard to be positive here.

I have no plans to ever use an iPhone unless Stevie gets reincarnated.

I have to say that it was exactly my first impression… difficult to view things at a glance, confusing, too big font... But, after 2 days, I have to say that I have now a different opinion. I'm getting used to it and really enjoying it. Dashboard easier to read, more customable... and a modern look. But this is just my opinion.

+1 This. And after switching to the dark theme it made things much easier for me on the eye at least.

I updated my APU from 2.2.6 to 2.3 with no issues!  Before doing so I uninstalled bandwidthd and darkstat but left the autoconfigbackup package.  After the update completed I reinstalled darkstat and noticed that the autoconfigbackup had upgraded to 1.45.  I think it was 1.35 before.  There is no longer a package for bandwidthd.  My installation is not complex but I do run an ipsec tunnel and it seems to be fine.  The UI looks amazing!
                              Thank you,
                              Jim

Just upgraded three very complex setups.  One has four WANs and 20 LANs, for example.

                                Smashing!
