I've been using pfSense for a little over a year now. I just upgraded to v2.3 and wol no longer works. It's been working perfectly in the past.

I use in to wake servers for weekly backups.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No help, sorry, but it's working for me.  Have you tried deleting a MAC and reentering it again?

I installed 2.THREE from CD-ROM on my spare firewall and swapped it into production. It's been running for the last eight hours, WOL is working fine for me.

I tried manually re-keying both the ip an mac and copy and paste. Not working either way.

I also installed from a CD-ROM. I just checked to see if my backup servers came on as scheduled. Both did not  :( 1 server will wake when I click on the button in the wake-on-LAN tab, and one will not.

Not having fun with this. I have 2 servers on a schedule to wake up (on cron) and run backups 3x a month. Backups won't run if the servers won't wake up.

Ok, after some serious looking into it seems to be more of a cron issue. The wol works from the wake on lan window. But, they don't seem to be working as cron jobs. In the mean time I am rolling back to the last version and will re visit at 2.3.1.

I'm guessing this thread can be closed.

                  The command that runs```
                  /usr/local/bin/wol

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
