      I am trying to install the package Service_Watchdog  1.8.3  but I get the below error during the install.

      pkg: http://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_0_amd64-pfSense_v2_3_0/meta.txz: No route to host
      repository pfSense has no meta file, using default settings
      pkg: http://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_0_amd64-pfSense_v2_3_0/packagesite.txz: No route to host
      Unable to update repository pfSense
      All repositories are up-to-date.

      pfSense-pkg-Service_Watchdog: 1.8.3 [pfSense]

        "No route to host" means you don't have a default gateway on the system. Or maybe that you have IPv6 configured internally but no IPv6 default route/Internet connectivity. Set the system to prefer IPv4 in that case under System>Advanced, Networking.

          I do have prefer IPv4 over IPv6 selected but under my WAN interface, I have IPv6 setup to none. Could be the issue. Why is that necessary?

            It could also be that you need a proxy to get out, and your upstream connection is rejecting the connection attempt ( https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/6149 )

              Im marking this issue as solved and posting a thank you for the fix in the quote above. +1 Karma to cmb. Thank you for your reply. It solved my issue. It was indeed not having IPv6 under my WAN interface set to DHCP.
