A firewall is not involved with the lan network neighborhood detection

^ exactly pfsense has nothing to do with communication between devices on the same network.

They put in a stop sign at the end of the road, and now my car won't start..

          On the other hand
I have not changed anything in computers

Is there a setting or package may be the cause

not on pfSense or any other border firewall.

its probably a windows firewall/filesharing thing that changed during an update/upgrade

Clearly you don't it seems ;)  Unless you have devices on different sides of a bridge on pfsense..  Lets state it again pfsense has NOTHING to do with communication between devices on the network..

The only possible interaction pfsense has with the clients other than getting them off the network they are on is giving them an IP address via dhcp, or resolving names via dns if asking pfsense for dns.  But pfsense has ZERO to do with them talking to each other, or broadcasting for for some network neighborhood MS nonsense.. No matter what package you install on pfsense…

There's not enough information here as to what type of browsing we are talking about, SMB/CIFS or something else? Ubuntu should have documentation on how this browsing operates and what protocols are involved.

                  All computers on one  bridge

There's not enough information here as to what type of browsing we are talking about

                  ubuntu nautilus
or in windows the file explorer

                  strange
I will continue to look for where the problem
                  Is there a suggestion ?

"All computers on one  bridge "

You have a bridge setup in pfsense??

Who is the browse master on your network?  Are they all in the same workgroup?  You do understand this service is not very consistent..

In windows you can find it via this info
                    http://scottiestech.info/2009/02/14/how-to-determine-the-master-browser-in-a-windows-workgroup/

                    Linux you can do this..
                    user@ubuntu:~$ nmblookup -M local
                    192.168.9.7 local<1d>
                    user@ubuntu:~$

Where my local example would be the workgroup your using.. Or a simple nmblookup -S should show you all your machines.. and you can look for the MSBROWSE entry, etc..

                    user@ubuntu:~$ nmblookup -S local
