Soekirs 6501: embedded AMD64 hangs in install (IPsec: Initialized Security Asso)
-
I try to get the AMD64 onto a Soekris 6501-70 booting from USB.
After transferring the embedded image I try to boot but my install hangs after this line is written to the console:
IPsec: Initialized Security Association Processing.
This exact thing is described in the wiki:
https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Soekris_6501_USB_Flash_installation#amd64_boot_messagesBut I do not understand the solution written there. Two links listed in the wiki should tell how to fix it:
http://wiki.soekris.info/Installing_FreeBSD (see the net6501 section)
http://www.mail-archive.com/soekris-tech@lists.soekris.com/msg06252.htmlCan anyone help me understand how to get AMD64 install running pass that last line?

Is there a reason you want to run 64bit?

From what I've heard, the net6501 requires a special kernel option for 64-bit mode that we don't include.
On spec/paper, its CPU isn't even 64-bit, though it does actually include support for it -
