Can we navigate away or close webui when package is being installed ?

Hi,
can we navigate away or close webui when package is being installed ?
I started installation of asterisk and it was almost 30 % downloaded and i closed the tab ..
few seconds later opened in another browser and went to package there was not tab for package installation ..
however i was expecting the download to be still going on as my wan speed is very slow (1mbit)

or is it being installed in the background but not visible ?

what about 2.3 and the little updates that always show up in update check ?
