Nfi0: Timeout after xxxx seconds

Hi there,
Our PFsense machine locked up last night….. I couldn't access it via the web interface or SSH.
When I visited it, it had hundreds of
"nfi0: COMMAND 0xffffff80204929945" TIMEOUT AFTER X seconds"
(see attached)
Plugging in a keyboard bought up the insert notification, but even then hitting return to try and bring up the console did nothing.
I've rebooted it now and it seems ok, just wondering if there's anything I can do to stop it doing it again.

It looks like your screen is cutting off slightly and that is really mfi0, not nfi0.
mfi0 would be certain LSI or Dell PERC RAID controllers, and if it's getting a command timeout, then it's more likely an issue on the card if it happens randomly like that. I'd check the RAID firmware, see if there is an update, and if that card has a battery make sure the battery hasn't failed.

Thanks, that makes sense. The server has an LSI controller with year old firmware on it. I've updated it and I've yet to have the error again (cross fingers!)
