Need some help with hardwareconfig.

Hi everybody
I'am planing a pfsense box at the moment.
My WAN is 50/10 mbit/s fast and i want to use pfsense with snort and squit.
In the LAN there are about 5 clients and 1 server.

It is hard to me to choose the right hardware with enough performance but with a low usage of current.

So here is that what i thought about:

-CPU Intel G2030T (2x2,6Ghz) Ivy Bridge
-Mobo Asus P8H61M-LE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131860R
-Ram 2x4GB DDR3
-Lan 2x PCIe 1.0 Intel Lan-card

So my questions are,
Do you think that this config has enough performance ?
and can i use the onboard LAN ? I think it is an Realtek.

Yes, easily.

It says it's an 8111F so it's probably not supported by default in 2.1. There are a few threads with newer kernel modules here though. You should be able to get it working with some work.

When you say "easily" do you think i can choose an CPU with lower performance?

Ok i'll try it with the 8111F.

You could do that quite easily with a core2duo for example. However that may not be the best option for you. It would probably use more power and you'd have to use old hardware.
You could probably do it with an Atom but you'd not have much CPU power in hand for any future upgrades.
