Bandwidth Limitation By User NOT IP
-
So straight to the point. I need to setup pfsense to accept the login of employees and guest, but the problem is I need to limit the bandwidth depending on the user type. The user types are VIPs, Employees and guest each should have its own bandwidth. I only have one portal am I missing something in the documentation that allows me to do just that. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

1st Over what connection type they are all connecting to your/that network?
WLAN (WiFi) or LAN (LAN cable)2nd What devices all are installed inside of your/that network?
(AD/DC, LADAP, RediusServer, Captive Portal, Wireless Controller(vendor?))
It would be nice to know that pending on the connection and registration method to come closer to the right point! So straight to the point. I need to setup pfsense to accept the login of employees and guest,
Against what they are all doing an auth. or plain in short, what is the auth. method in that network?
You will be able to install pfSense and Squid and then forcing them all to use a user auth. or against a
RadiusServer or a LDAP Server such likes;- WLAN guests over a Captive Portal w/ vouchers
- WLAN employees over a FreeRadiusServer w/ certificates & user groups
- LAN employees over a AD/DC and/or LDAP Server
And all gets its own VLAN with IP range and you might be happy with QoS to serve them.

The users will be connecting to the network via WiFi emitted by AirLive.
The devices that connect to the network are either mobile devices (cellphones, tablets, ipods, laptops, etc.) through captive portal.
The VIPS and employees will have a username and password while guests use vouchers. Is it possible to set the bandwidth by user? VIPs should have high bandwidth priority.
Other possible relevant details:
The pfsense server has 4 network adapters one for WAN and three for LAN.
