How can I download/convert  RRD data to CVS format so I can generate longer-period-of-time graphs with higher resolution (i.e. whole year per minute)

    Thanks

1 minute data for a year doesn't exist in the database. RRD stores consolidated data with decreasing granularity over time.

I did not expect that. This means the old fine-grained data is lost forever, right? In this case, is there a "pfSense" way to keep the fine-grained data or to control the desired granularity either, preferably, on the pfSense box or on another box?

I need this for one installation we they need to keep the historical data for as long as possible with maximum accuracy.

        Thanks

To my knowledge, there isn't a way to do this directly with pfSense. However, you might be able to use an external agent to collect and store the data. Something like a Zabbix or other SNMP based monitor.

What data, specifically, are you looking for with such high resolution? Network traffic data? Memory/CPU usage?

By default, RRD tracks a number of different data in pfSense… if there's something specific that you need for a particular purpose, maybe someone can recommend another way to collect/track that data with the resolution that you need?

Yeah you'll need something like that, since as Denny noted, RRD doesn't have all the fine-grained long term data.
