hi guys, i need your help to choose the right hardware for my requirements.

      Requirements:
      1. The device will be used as a firewall/router and openVPN client. (and more in the future)
      2. should be able to handle 15 personal computers, 15 IP Cameras and 10 or more small devices such as printer, credit card terminal etc…
      3. IP Camera's won't be accessed very often from outside.
      4. need at least 2 WAN ports.
      5. must be able to handle 50Mbps down speed when connected to the PIA VPN service.
      6. CPU/motherboard must support AES-NI
      7. small form factor, no fan if possible, but not required.
      8. I would like to stay under $500 for this project.

      Thanks.

any midrange intel cpu built in the last 5-10 years would suffice to handle 50Mbps.

50mbit openvpn would require a bit more modern hardware (first gen i5 ish perhaps or last gen core2 )

AES-NI support is only found in new-ish hardware & will not increase performance for openvpn (at this point in time)

Thanks. I think I will look into i5. Which i5 cpu would you recommend? I am thinking to buy a used one but not too old and at the same time not too expensive.
Seems like i5 6500 is best bang for the buck these days. What kind of down speed can I expect if use i5 6500 using VPN when my normal down speed is 50Mbps? Can I expect something between 40Mbps and 45MBps?

If everything works as it should: 5-10% loss of raw throughput is to be expected.

PC Engines APU2C4 or the pfSense SG-2440 both would be enough to handle this speed at the WAN ports.
