      Renato found and fixed that. New quarterly ports branch merged yesterday included a new pkg version, which changed behavior there in that regard. You can upgrade fine to the next snapshot from the console (at least something two hours past the time of this post), and it'll work again at that point.

      thanks! Using option 13 from the console did update the pfSense build, but unfortunately I am still getting the same issue from the GUI and Package Manager.

        I also had update issues Today, console update fixed the issue but the dashboard and package managers are still in error

                      my update has failed during the update
                      after I get this error .Unable to retrieve package information.
                      I am still on 2.31
                      after I run the below command
                      pfSsh.php playback gitsync RELENG_2_3

                      I get
                      Starting the pfSense developer shell….

                      Cannot find git, installing...

                      and it hangs there for ages

                      the status on the web interface is
                      2.3.1-RELEASE-p5 (amd64)
                      built on Thu Jun 16 12:53:15 CDT 2016
                      FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p3

                      Unable to check for updates
                      please advise...

                        2.3.2 is released now, you should be upgrading to the stable release not a snapshot (what this board is for).

                        Post in https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?board=4.0 if you have question about upgrading to 2.3.2-RELEASE
