Errors while updating from 2.3 to 2.3.2
-
Hello everyone,
Today I tried to update from 2.3 to 2.3.2 via the web GUI, which resulted in the following error:
>>> Updating repositories metadata... Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue... pfSense-core repository is up-to-date. Updating pfSense repository catalogue... pfSense repository is up-to-date. All repositories are up-to-date. >>> Upgrading pkg... failed. Failed
Then I used ssh to run the following command: pkg upgrade, which resulted in this (attached as screenshot).
Please let me know if there is a solution.
Thank you.
PS:
I'm using the RELEASE stable branch.

What do you get on the command line if you enter:
drill pkg.pfsense.org??
What about:
cd /root
curl -O http://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_0_amd64-pfSense_v2_3_0/All/pkg-1.8.7.txz
?? -
Run on console:
pfSense-upgrade -d
And paste any messages here.

drill pkg.pfsense.org returns the ip address: 162.208.119.39
curl downloaded the file without a problem (!? weird…)
pfSense-upgrade redownloaded the meta data from the repo, reported that pkg: 1.6.2 -> 1.8.7 [pfSense] is to be upgraded and then came up with "Not Found", similar result to running "pkg upgrade"
weird, why did curl work but not pkg?

Maybe your issue is: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=115197.msg641296#msg641296
-
That is nanobsd-only and presents differently.

SOLVED!
My Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) forced me to run the "pfSense-upgrade -d" command about 10+ times and then out of the blue the update started to download, no more "Not Found" errors….
weird eh?
Maybe a reverse proxy wasn't updated with the latest files? network error? who knows...
