      I want your advice about if I need a SG-2440 or SG-4860

I currently use a Asus RT-AC68U but I'm tired about lack of features and low vpnspeed

I have a 250/50 Mbit (250 down and 50 up) cable-tv broadband and I will soon change to 250/100 Mbit fiber
My plan is doing a vpnclient setup on the pfsense router and with policyrules set which traffic goes over vpn or not

What do you think ? In the future I maybe upgrade to 500 Mbit fiber

Your OpenVPN throughput will depend directly on the CPU speed.  Both have AES-NI but the 4860 has a faster CPU and thus will have higher OpenVPN throughput.  I'm not sure that either model can saturate your connection with OpenVPN, though.  Others may have more specific experience.  Perhaps have a look at this thread: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=115673.0

Other than that, they are both quite suitable for your needs.

Both wont provide you with VPN at the full speed of your current or future connection.

            What is your budget?

I would go for the SG-2440 based on your current connection speed.

You can probably achieve 250Mbps with OpenVPN for $700 but it won't be with either one of these devices.  You're going to need a fast CPU.  I'd wager you can easily do it within your budget but you may sacrifice size and power for performance.  So, either adjust your expectations for OpenVPN or do a custom build.  Clock speed is your friend. Paint, who replied to your topic earlier, has a nice build that you might want to take note of.  I don't have the link at hand but I'm sure he'd be glad to chime in.

According to a different, openVPN theoretical encryption test my machine above can push almost 300mbps. I get close to my 150/150 internet connection over VPN, obviously limited by my connection.
