      Hi

my current setup is the following:

      • three vlans
          - WAN1
          - WAN2 (OPT1)
          - LAN

      And the following Connections:

      • WAN1 8/0,7 Mbit DSL
      • WAN2 8/0,7 Mbit DSL

Nothing strange with this set up, only the DSL providers are different, nothing else and both are PPTP connenctions.

But something strange happens with WAN2:

When i'm only using WAN1, i get nearly the full speed of the DSL connection on my local PC.
When i disable WAN1 and enable WAN2 i only got about 20 kb/s on every pc. I thought there was a problem with my connection but i testet it without the PFsense and got the full speed of nearly 8mbit. Even with the modem and my notebook (PPTP) connection i got the full speed.

Then i installed iperf and tested it on WAN2 (disabled WAN1) and i also got about 7mbit per second.

Before upgrading to 2.3 (?) everything worked fine.

What could the problem be? I installed the whole pfsense new and the problem still exists.

      Thank you for your help

Edit: Iperf test seems to be also very slow. About 80kb/s.

        I just made more tests.

If i swap the ADSL Lines and change the credentials the error appears not on the same interface but on the same ADSL Line. WAN1 is now the slow one.

        What could be the problem?

If the problem follows the modem/ISP then most likely it's a problem in the modem or ISP. With the test you have eliminated the pfSense NIC as the cause of the problem at least, if I understand what you changed right.

Are the modems compatible with both providers? You could swap just the modems and see if the problem follows the modem or the ISP in that test.

Yes, they are compatible with both providers. One is a Pirelli and the oder one a Technicolor.

I only swapped the lines, and changed the username and passwords at the pfsense and WAN1, now with the ADSL2 connection is the slow one. I haven't checked yet, if now WAN2 (with ADSL1) has the same speed befor switching the DSL lines.

So the complete different hardware, but same results. Also a more powerful server gives me the same result.

But why why is the connection fast with my notebook using the windows pptp client and not with the pfsense itself? Could there a problem with the username, when there is an @ in it?

                @Piyapong:

                PPTP WAN 2 is different.

but when i'm switching the adsl modems (Provider 1 is now WAN1) the same problem occurs on WAN1 and not on WAN2
