I have been trying to install a Netgear GS108TV2 switch to eventually run a Unfi AP with 3 vlans and 1 normal network on supermicro c2558 board. At the moment just setting up the switches in normal mode.

The system reboots by itself when the switch is connected or un connected – anyone got any ideas what's going on here? The logs don't show anything useful. (only have connection to pfsense LAN and Unifi AP on switch instead of Unif AP to Pfsense LAN nic)

        ESD or bad earth-power cabling.

          thanks
I did notice there is an earth tag on the switch that is not connected to anything BUT the pfense box is not earthed as the power is external and only 2 pin.

Can you suggest a solution as Ive never encountered this with switches before?

Which power system do you connect to, is it US110V or 230V (most of Europe) or … ? What country?
