      Hey people!

Have a couple of months been reading here and there about what to have for stuff if you should run pfSense .
This has resulted in that I have read too much so all I have read is now one mess in head!

I have today 100/100 fiber from Telia open fiber  and Bahnhof is the internet provider.. But have plans to upgrade to faster speeds in the future.

      So now to help.

What hardware should I choose ??

1: SG -2240 (the little router from pfsense)

2: a router from Ovpn.se (a VPN provider in sweden wich has it own router with costumized pfsense, according to ovpn.se this Box can handle 600mbps troughput on VPN.

3: custom Built box/server that is power efficient and not very loud .

I want My router to handle My 100/100mbit connection via OpenVPN and also be future proof for faster speeds.

And i know that some speed loose Will be when connection trough VPN.

      My client list is:

1: freenas server with plex wich 4-8 people streams from. (Maybe 3 streams at the time)
      2: 6 cellphones and 6 ipads
      3: 3 PC's
      4: 2 rp-i's
5: and a guest network on the wi-fi.

Would be grateful for responses is direct as type 'you are gonna be fine with sg-2240 " .

      Thanks in advance
      Freddie

Look into zotac if you're on budget. I went with zotac zbox ci323. Added 16gb 8x2 cl9 1600mhz and Samsung 850 Evo 250gb ssd
Comes with wifi card inside and antenna. Bios also shows another sata channel. I'm thinking there might be another slot for storage. Cpu is 4 core with aes-ni. Two nics are Realtek. im sure there is some thread on here with its performance benchmarks. Sorry for tough typing I'm on iPhone 4 lol

I was looking at this exact unit.  How powerful is the built-in wifi?  I was assuming it would be weak and a real AP would be in order.

I'm not sure, it's not being recognized by my setup however i did read here somewhere someone got it working, not sure if they replaced the card inside or used the stock that comes with the box. I have it hooked up to switch and my old WNDR4500 with ddwrt as an AP
