Testing Cisco Router
-
Hello All,
I have to test Cisco RV series routers functionality in my office for a client. To perform my test, I have to unplug ISP from pfsense and plug it to the Cisco each time. Of course, I want to avoid this.
Can I plug WAN port of the Cisco unit to an available port on the Pfsense machine? Basically, can I provide Internet to the Cisco box without doing any natting etc using Pfsense?
Just so you know that I have /29 from my ISP (I still have two IPs available), and two extra Ethernet ports on my pfsense device.
Thanks.

If your CPE doesn't have multiple ports, just use a cheap switch between the ISP equipment and the WAN ports of pfSense and the Cisco.

Thanks for your reply. OK, so I basically configure the WAN port on the Cisco to use one of the available IPs from my ISP, correct?

Correct. You should be fine if the IP for the Cisco is not used on the pfSense box.
