Serious problems with Realltek Nic. Help!!
-
I have two realtek nics in my pfsense machine a pcie one and a onboard one. The problem is sometimes the two seems they are merged or having irq problems because if I get high latency on one the other shows high latency also. The other two nics in the machine which are two pci nics don't have this issue. So I am not sure if there is some conflict that's happening because they are both realtek cards.
I have 3 wan connections.
2 are the realtek cards onboard and pcie which is 1gbps card.
1 is tp-link card.
The lan is a davicom card.I was wondering if I buy another realtek pcie card and disable the onboard one would it solve the problem. I need some advice because I don't want to buy the pcie realtek card and it doesn't work.

Or you could purchase a $15 Intel NIC that doesn't have any issues.

Nobody can tell you that in advance with any certainty. Unless they're really expensive where you are, I would try it just to rule that out.

Can you afford to take part of the network down ? If so try using one of your other known good NICs and confirm that it is or isn't a hardware issue before you buy a new NIC
