      im new for this.

      In my actual job, there is only one server with 2gb RAM

      i wanna use pfsense on a Core2Duo and 2gb RAM for limit internet ban for 30 cpus

      and restric social networks i asig static ip

      I dont know if a good idea use core2duo for install pfsense like server

        Hello freddy,

        you should try it out its simple, because then you can be sure that the hardware is well supported.
        I want to say that this is also based on what packets you want to install, if you plan to install many
        packets such as pfBlockerNG, Squid & SquidGuard, Snort, TinyDNS, ClamAV scan, …......
        you might be better with more RAM between 4 GB and 8 GB of it. And if you plan to cache
        data with squid as a proxy you may have a look at a SSD over a HDD.

          I'm running a pfSense box with a 600GB White Label Velociraptor (10,000RPM). Good drive and are rather cheap on eBay (~$50 shipped) and come with a one year warranty.

          Once my newer router comes in, I will get a pair of them and run as a RAID1.
