SG-1000 Console & Reset
-
Is there a physical hardware reset somewhere on the SG-1000? I can't find it.
Is there a way to get a regular serial console port output from the SG-1000? I can't get a a host to connect to the SG-1000 microUSB console port. I've tried Mac, but the Silicon Lab drivers don't load (maybe because I'm use macOS 10.12 Sierra?), I've tried a PC running XP, and a PC running Win 10.
Without a hardware reset or a working console, I'm afraid I might configure myself into a hole as I experiment with LAN and WAN ip network addressing with no way to reset.
Looking for suggestions on best way to proceed…

SILabs drivers work fine on Sierra and with SG-1000.

Any special techniques for getting the Silicon Lab driver to work on macOS Sierra?
I go through the install and connect the USB to micro-usb to the SG-1000 and power-up, but the device doesn't show in the mac device table anywhere so I can't bring up the console screen.

ls /dev/cu.*
$ ls -1 /dev/cu.*
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port
/dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART
/dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART50
/dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART54You do not need to power the SG-1000 to get the port to show on the host. The serial chipset is USB-powered.
There will, of course, be no visible output until the unit is powered.
