WAN and LAN on the same subnet for transparent proxy?
-
Hello,
quick question here, I was wondering if I can setup a PfSense like this, so he can work as a transparent proxy :WAN : 192.x.x.74/24
LAN : 192.x.x.75/24I think it's not possible, but I'm starting here, and I search how to add a transparent proxy for me.
Thanks by advance

Do you really want a transparent proxy or a filtering bridge?
-
You mean something like this?
https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Setup_Squid_as_a_Transparent_Proxy

Yes, a transparent proxy @jahonix :)
I want to keep logs from where users are going but without modifying there PC, so transparent proxy.
And @Derelict, thank you but this isn't what I meant, I know how to install Squid on PfSense but I'm not PfSense will accept the configuration I wrote in the first post :
WAN : 192.168.1.74/24
LAN : 192.168.1.75/24I suppose if PfSense accept this, he will accept Squid either, but that's the point, will he accept that? :)

Asking such questions means you don't understand how Ethernet works.
Sorry. -
You cannot have WAN and LAN on the same subnet, no.
-
Which has nothing to do with how a transparent proxy works anyway..

Well, I was pretty much sure I wouldn't be able to do that, but I was searching a confirmation.
Sorry for the silly question and thanks @doktornotor for the answer!
