VoIP over VLAN Interface
-
Hello, my problem is to get connected to the SIP-Server for using voip. The provider delivers german vdsl. To connect to the internet with WAN interfaces are correct configured and work proper.
To connect to the SIP-Server, i had to build an VLAN with id 10. The interface that is connected are named opt1 and uses DHCP. I got an IP-Adress for this interface.
Can someone explain to me, who i must set the firewall rules and the outbound rules. -

You are a client of the server. So:
On the firewall vLAN tab you set pfSense default, any source and any destination allowed, no problem.
Later if you know the SIP server's IP(s), you could restrict allowance to that one(s). -
you have to put the ip-address from the sip-provider in the destinations address field. Should there be changes in Firewall – NAT (outgoing) ?

Hello again. Maybe show your pfSense SIP on LAN set-up and mention your SIP-client(receiver) device to us.
Then report about results from your set-up with my earlier firewall advice.
[If you are NOT a supplier of SIP to the world, no WAN inbound(NAT) is needed…] -
Hello,
i tried a lot configuration. But i think i made a mistake. None of your suggestions can bring the goal.
So i tried to paint a picture from my network.
i can resolve the DNS name sip.htp-ngn.de on my pfsense. But an other PC can't do that.
The pfsense got an IP-Address over the WAN interface. This interfaces will be the default Gateway.
The network interface OPT1 is an VLAN with ID 10 and is re0. From this interfaces i got per DHCP
the configuration for VoIP (IP-Address and DNS-Servers).
