      Hi
All my devices are assigned IP addresses via static dhcp reservations.

When I look at the webGui and/or logs I'm shown the devices IP address.

Is it possible to show either the devices hostname or description assigned to  the static reservation ?

      Thanks

Thanks. That only returns 'cannot resolve'

Any idea how to solve that ?

          Thanks

Well can not resolve your own local hosts - what is pfsense using for dns.. It should out of the box being pointing to itself ie 127.0.0.1 using the resolver.. Do you have your resolver set to register static entries?

Did you change to the forwarder?

              Hi

In DNS resolver I have dhcp registration and static dhcp ticked.
DNS Forwarder isn't enabled. Should it be?

What settings should be set ?

              Thanks

In my static dhcp list, only a couple of devices have hostnames.
I manually assigned a host name to one device and now it appears in the logs correctly.

Should the list of static address have the hostname populated automatically, or do I need to go through and assign a meaningful value ?

                Thanks

you should put in what the hostname is..  Or how you want to resolve it.. To it being meaningful would be up to you.
