      @doktornotor:

      If documentation is useless for you, I'd suggest to hire someone to do the job for you instead. https://www.netgate.com/support/

      ::) ::) ::)

      Another w….

      Your post also not solving my question, I will just ignore it...

        Don't post any useless links if You not going to help.

        I'm terribly sorry.  I thought, based on your description of needing some traffic shaping, that you would be interested in learning how to shape your traffic.  Clearly my mistake.

          Basically I am wondering which way is easiest to do that?

          Someone would say: "I have done it using xxxx software and so far works OK for me"

          And then…. If I wouldn't know how to do it using xxx software then I would ask for some advise how to do it. Its nothing to do with manual or traffic shaping guide (that was my first thing where I started from) or buying annual support for $400 just for this case.

          I am really disappointed that so many people are so "loud" on forums (not only this one), but in fact they just want to build up activity counter.

            Hmm.  I'm really disappointed that I spend a lot of time helping other people here for free, and yet some people won't take any of my advice, argue even though they know nothing about the topic they're asking help with, and then they go on to accuse me of having bad motives for helping them.

            I am not a shaping expert.  I know enough to get what I want to work.  If you're looking to shape your traffic then you need either a limiter or shaper.  The Traffic Shaping forum is the place to go for that info since lots of others are asking the exact same type of question as you.

            At this point, I regret that I tried to help you.  Good luck.

              I would have read the docs and searched the forum and asked a specific question if I got stuck somewhere. Obviously not what you've done, yet you get offended when pointed to documentation.

              If you want someone to rewrite things solved zillion times before for you specifically, good luck with that. Have better things to do with my free time.

                    Shame about the attitude on this thread, but posting here in case anyone else is looking for a similar solution.

                    Saw this (described in a video) in another thread, yesterday. Haven't tried it, but looks appropriate.

                    Firewall > Traffic Shaper > Limiters > Add

                    then…

                    Firewall > Rules > Add/Edit: Advanced Options, In/Out pipe - select new limit created above...

                      For those that don't like watching videos:

                      You need to create a minimum of 2 limits -"In" & "Out" cannot be the same…

                      Very easy fix!

                      And thanks very much KOM for the link  ;)
                      The introductory paragraph of that link refers to Limiters:
                      https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Limiters

                      Note also that:

                      If using limiters on LAN, the inbound queue is upload and the outbound queue is download.
