      I have a nanobsd vga install on a Hacom 1Ghz Celeron box and it was running pfSense 2.03 with no issues.

      I removed the flash and physdiskwrite v2.1.1 then restored my config.  All works well and the firewall is forwarding packets just fine.

      However, the dashboard version is stuck on "Obtaining update status …" so I am not getting CPU usage (since that usually has to finish first).  Any idea what's wrong?

        I had this happen when I unbound DNS Forwarder from localhost and kept "Do not use the DNS Forwarder as a DNS server for the firewall" unchecked - this prevented normal name resolution for PHP admin site from working properly.
        You have to keep either setting enabled.

          Thanks, but that didn't seem to fix it.

            have you tried manually entering the URL for update from console?

              @arduino:

              I'm not sure what the URL is.

              I tried clicking every combination that had to do with DNS and what the firewall resolves.  No dice.

                You can find the URL in System - Firmware - Updater Settings (select your arch from the Default Auto Update URLs dropdown). You can also disable the stupid dashboard update check in the same place.

                  I just disabled it.  That works for me.  Thanks.
