Since last week, the 2.1.1 release is available. I am wondering if the packages that are currently available would depend on the update. In particular, what is your experience of how to do the update:

      a) simply update, no dependencies are relevant
      b) before updating, uninstall all packages that are not for the same major
      release (ie. platform 1.2)
      c) before updating, uninstall all packages that are not for the same minor release
      (ie platform 2.0)
      d) before updating, uninstall everything else
      e) don't update

then the question arise how you can re-setup the packages with the same configs afterwards, because I only saw a monolithic XML with all the settings in one file (which is great, but makes separation and reconfiguration harder).

      thanks

The packages all attempt to reinstall on the first boot after the upgrade. They will install the latest version of each package. The settings are all in config.xml so they get re-applied after the package install. Some packages need you to go into their web-interface and click enable/save to make them go again (pfBlocker comes to mind - not sure why it does not just do its thing automagically).

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
