    what are this 4 giga ports? will they work for pfsense?

      Intel i354 w/ Marvell PHY. Works under 2.1.1 and newer.

        but the other pair of i210 wouldnt still be supported on 2.1.1

                thanks then for this info..

                is there any list where we could see the supported nics under any version of pfsense…so we could just reference to them whenever there is new release...

                  No.  It loosely follows the FreeBSD 8.3 HCL but some drivers have been updated.

                    does this mean pfsense whatever release cannot add or modify anything that is on freeBSD HCL it is based on

                      No, I just said the exact opposite of that. The base OS is FreeBSD 8.3. The dev team has updated some drivers to allow newer hardware to function, notably, as per this thread, the Intel em, igb, and ix drivers.

                      Once 2.2 drops the base OS will be changing to FreeBSD 10, bringing with it updated drivers across the board.
