Why the delay in reporting spamming posts? I really think that the reporting timer should be shortened considerably.

Yes, often there are multiple spam posts, and I have to go off and read something else then come back to report the next one. I guess it limits spammers from making too many spam reports.

There are effective anti spam measures that can be implemented that would avoid having to use ineffective workarounds like this. Why the Admins here don't implement them is beyond me.
Also as an side, the forum software is 3 versions behind. The forum software really should be updated since a few security flaws have been patched in the recent releases.

I agree the delay is a pain, I report spam pretty much every day when I first get on there seems to be multiple spam messages.
If your worried about new users spamming the admins by reporting stuff as spam, can you not just put a limit on the age or number of posts/level of the account that can report spam without a delay?
Also agree that SMF is behind - while I can understand not being on .13 that just came out last month. .12 released in July of last year.. And .11 well over a year ago..

If the posts are from the same user, they should all get deleted when the first report is acted on.
I don't know the details but I'm sure, without the delay, people would use it to spam us.

The best defense is a good offense. Stop the spammers from registering in the first place. See this thread in the Simple Machines Support forum for an effective way of eliminating it.

I know you're not an admin and can't implement this but point an admin to this thread that can. 20 or 30 simple questions formatted in this way with say 3 visible and auto rotated will keep the spambots out and keep it random enough to keep it effective. They are also simple enough that any person registering should have no problem answering them.

With reports about posts of course.. Pretty sure if my intent was to spam the mods/admins with reports of bad posts a 40 sec delay would not deter me.. Setup a script and walk away, simple delay of 41 seconds between reports and sit back and enjoy the lulz ;)

I hit this limit frequently. Would love to see it go away.
