PfSense update 2.0.3 to 2.1.2
-
Hi All,
I'm relatively new to this system. I want to update the firmware of my firewall to version as in topic.
I think I know what to do but just in case can you please confirm that:
This is what the system says about the update.A new version is now available
Current version: 2.0.3-RELEASE
NanoBSD Size : 4g
Built On: Fri Apr 12 10:22:18 EDT 2013
New version: 2.1.2-RELEASEUpdate source: http://updates.pfsense.org/_updaters/
If I'm not wrong I will need to download and install this
latest-nanobsd-4g.img.gz 10-Apr-2014 17:56 86053399Is this right?
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you're on i386 and not amd64, that's correct. Can check on the dashboard (should see "2.0.3-RELEASE (i386)"). Just click the upgrade button there on the auto-update.

Hi,
I updated the firmware to 2.1.2 as stated above. But since then my VPN stopped working. I cant start the VPN service and get this in the log:
May 6 10:55:50 openvpn[30797]: Exiting due to fatal error
May 6 10:55:50 openvpn[30797]: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/tun2: Device busy (errno=16)
May 6 10:55:50 openvpn[30797]: TUN/TAP device ovpns2 exists previously, keep at program end
May 6 10:55:50 openvpn[30797]: Control Channel Authentication: using '/var/etc/openvpn/server2.tls-auth' as a OpenVPN static key fileMy WAN has changed since prolly due to rebooting the devices but I've already updated my DynamicDNS service with new IP address so the client is connecting to the right IP. The connnnection works as I'm able to connect to my owncloud service I got installed on one of the servers.
When trying to connect through the client I got the below in the log.
Tue May 06 11:06:03 2014 Control Channel Authentication: using 'pfsense-udp-1194-****l-tls.key' as a OpenVPN static key file
Tue May 06 11:06:07 2014 UDPv4 link local (bound): [undef]
Tue May 06 11:06:07 2014 UDPv4 link remote: [AF_INET]a.b.c.248:1194
Tue May 06 11:07:07 2014 TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds (check your network connectivity)
Tue May 06 11:07:07 2014 TLS Error: TLS handshake failed
Tue May 06 11:07:07 2014 SIGUSR1[soft,tls-error] received, process restartingNo change has been made to the actual configuration prior and after the upgrade, so from what I understand all should be working fine, unless I'm wrong and missed something.
All help would be much appreciated.
PS. Also my Dynamic DNS clients show this:
WAN freeDNS ***.mooo.com 0.0.0.0 FreeDNS
WAN freeDNS ************.mooo.com 0.0.0.0 Staff FreeDNSAnd nothing changes when I force update.
