Page fault on boot
-
I just downloaded the amd64 memstick img for the latest snapshot of pfsense 2.2, and after dd'ing the file to a memstick, I get the following error on boot.
Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
cpuid = 0; apic id = 00
fault virtual address = 0x0
fault code = supervisor write data, page not present
instruction pointer = <really long="" hex="" code="">stack pointer = <long code="">frame pointer = <same as="" stack="">code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
= dpl 0, pres 1, long 1, def32 0, gran 1
processor eflags = resume, IOPL = 0
current process = 0 (swapper)This is stopped at the vesa_configure+0xb49: movl $0xffffffff, (%rcx, %rax, 1)
Above that I'm seeing some errors about reading a LICENSE file, and setting an iwi option in /boot/loader.conf, but I don't have Intel nics, I have both realtek ones.
All the other troubleshooting I've seen points me to https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tuning_and_Troubleshooting_Network_Cards, but there's nothing in there about realtek troubleshooting.
Is this a real bug, or am I doing something wrong/have some bad hardware?</same></long></really>

I think you got a bad snapshot from a bad commit!
