IPv6 DHCP server on multiple VLANs
-
Hi,
I have defined 6 VLANs on my network and the all trunk in to pfSense on a single physical interface. For example…
My Comcast link config is requesting a 60 bit prefix for internal use, so I've assigned "Track Interface" to all my VLANs and that works perfectly.
LAN2 host
| /---------------VLAN11 hosts
(em2) / /----------------------VLAN13 hosts
Internet(Comcast)---(em0)pfSense(em1)====(1/g48)Dell 6248======Other Dell Powerconnect
\======Other Dell PowerconnectTrunking link -> ====
VLAN access link for hosts -> -----I have enabled DHCPv6 server with "Assisted" RA on 5 of the VLANs. However, hosts on every VLAN are getting IPv6 addresses from the address space defined on VLAN7, (incidentally, this is the lowest VLAN number with an DHCPv6 server enabled).
Am I configuring this incorrectly, or is the problem elsewhere?
If I turn off DHCPv6, what RA setting would I use so hosts auto-configure an IPv6 address based on the IPv6 address space of their corresponding VLAN interface on the router?
Thanks.

Wild guess: You forgot to assign individual "IPv6 Prefix IDs" für each Track Interface? :)
As the name suggests, it's an individual prefix for each /64 derived from your delegated /60.
Best regards

Prefix ID's are assigned and all internal VLAN interfaces have and address with their assigned prefixes.
