Pfsense not detecting cable plugged in?
-
I currently have a dell optiplex 780 for my pfsense box. As far as nics go, I have an onboard intel gigabit and three additional nics (HP NC360T and a D-Link DGE-530T). The D-link card came with the computer i got for free, though im not using it for any connection and the HP card is an intel card. Here they are http://image.prntscr.com/image/118db9cf85ab483da95ecf1c19db08f5.png. Now my problem is on my old box, pfsense would detect and say if there is a cable plugged in to the nic, for this box it doesn't work. Any reason why?

Did you assign one interface to WAN and one to LAN during pfSense installation? Which release, 2.3.3, 2.4 beta?
Did you assign the other interfaces under Interfaces>Assignments ?
Did you enable the interfaces?
Is the free D-link card known to be a functioning NIC to start with?

Already removed the DLINK nic, but it was functioning. I am on 2.3.3. Everything works, except for auto detection of cable plugged in/removed.

NC360T is Intel 82571EB based card that is supported by FreeBSD. I currently have one box running with same chipset and have no problems with cable detection. Does it work on gigabit link? Do you have problem with both ports?
Card have LEDs on the both ports, do the LEDs ON/blink when the cable is connected?
