      Hi all,

im considering to buy a SG-2220 or a SG-1000. I would like to do the following stuff with it:

      • Webfiltering (Children) for single subnet (i do not want restrictions on my own PC)
      • Antivirus
      • VPN Dialin (Remote Administration, maybe sometimes surfing in open WLANs)
      • Live Traffic Control (The most important, i want to see who uses how much traffic on the line, current and historical)
We are only 3-4 people in our house, so i hope the Hardware will be able to handle it.

One very important question because i want to save energy: Is it possible to turn These appliances "hard" off? So just turn off energy without shutting down properly?
Or will the filesystem get broken?

      Best regards.

It's possible but we don't recommend it due to a few FreeBSD related bugs. These units use 1W to 5W when turned on, I suggest you save energy on other hardware.
