Modem (ISP) to pfSense to Server to routers
-
Is there a way for me to run cat5/6 to the pfSense box, back out of the pfSense box using a second NIC, and then to my server (then back out to the devices)?
I would really like to do this for firewall as well as antivirus due to there being younger kids that use the PCs in my house (60+ PCs; 40+ mobile devices that i don't really want to reconfigure but if needed i would). Would i need to bridge the connection? Or how do i have one (wired) NIC an input and one (wired) NIC an output?
HELP?!?!?!?!
thanks. :) -

thanks. :)pfSense is a firewall… it probably does AV as well. I highly doubt you need that second box inbetween pfsense and the router.
your internet would come into pfsense throug the WAN port and would exit to the router through the LAN port. hope that helps
