Looking at the three models (SG-2220 vs. SG-2320/SG-2340) it's hard to see a huge major difference between them. To my newb eye, I only see differences in clock speed on Intel Atom (dual-core SG-2220 and 2320 vs quad-core in SG-2340) and the new models with 32GB m.2 drives vs 4GB eMMC, but what does that mean to the consumer? Especially the home office consumer? Are the new ones more "future proof" compared to SG-2220?

I'm curious about this as well, as I will be in the market for new hardware soon (my current hardware won't run 2.4).

I'm also curious what the benefit of the 2340 is over the 2320. The $25 doesn't matter to me, but I saw that the 2320 is fanless, which would actually be more attractive to me.

The 2340 has more cores and faster clock speed, so I guess will be able to max out processing/forwarding the 2 * Gbit ethernet more easily.

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."

The SG-2320 is a fanless dual core system (1.46 GHz) while 2340 has a fansink and is a faster quad core system (1.91 GHz). The SG-2340 is a bit faster than SG-2220.

All of them are future proof.

My router lives in a closet. Can the SG-23X0 be configured to use a serial console, including access to the BIOS?

Is the SG-23X0 CPU really nearly 4 years old?

The SG-2340 uses the Intel Atom E3845 and the SG-2320 uses the Intel Atom E3826 (according to the spec sheets).  So not quite 4 years old…  release date was 4th quarter 2013 on both.
