I tried to update the SG-1000 to 2.4.0.b.20170511.1545 yesterday.

      • Tried to update via the GUI. It errored out.

      • Tried updating via the GUI a second time, it seemed to work.

      • Got stuck at boot and never got to load PFSense.

Today I re-flashed the SG-1000 with the latest firmware https://portal.pfsense.org/firmware/sg-1000/

      • Re-loaded my config.

      • Tried to update via the console.

      • It got stuck at boot attempting to rm a whole bunch of stuff.

I'll hold off updating for the next version.

First, off I am a noob and was wondering if you could tell me the steps you took to re-flash the sg-1000. I followed the manual but keep receiving the "enter full pathname of shell or return for /bin/sh" error. I have tried with micro sd and via the USB OTG with no luck.

          I followed this guide: https://www.netgate.com/docs/sg-1000/faq.html#how-do-i-restore-the-firewall-os-firmware

And flashed the image to USB using this command: https://www.netgate.com/docs/reference/create-flash-media.html#linux-freebsd-mac-os-x

Then when I had the OTG cable plugged in, with the USB connected, it gave a re-flash option from the console on first boot.

          Hope that helps.
