      I just got my QOTOM-Q355G4 (Core i5) , and have it equipped w. 8G Ram & a 240G Toshiba SATA SSD

I installed the "memstick image" yesterday , but had to use the "tv" as HDMI monitor , in order to use the console.
That did NOT bring happiness @SWHMOB

As there's a DB9 comport on the unit i was thinking about instaling the memstick-serial instead , and was wondering if it was the "same base image" , just using serial as console instead of VGA/HDMI.

That way i could just connect a FTDI Serial adapter to the QOTOM, if/when i need a console.

I was considering ZFS instead of the normal *FS , but the install procedure (correct selections) for a single SSD install is a bit confusing. And someone i know using pfense ,even mentioned his SATA SSD disk never had problems with corruption, and said ZFS would just complicate things.

Any hints to the parameters needed for a single SSD ZFS install would be appreciated.

      /Bingo

The serial version is the same, just using serial as console instead of VGA/HDMI. Keep in mind, if you decide to use the serial port on the QOTOM you need a null adapter for console access.Ā  You can install the VGA version and also enable console output in system settings, this way you get two outputs.

That would prob be the way to go then , thanxĀ  ;)

Any hints on the ZFS install , or should i just use the old FS ?

Sorry I'm not expert on file system. I would stick with what pfSense came with, less complicated. Did find this link, https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/5lynkq/zfs_on_24/
