Someone on another site suggested I might be able to fix my problem by adding to the boot.conf loader.conf file, could anyone tell me how I go about editing this file? Pfsense is installed, but I cant get past the initial setup screen so I don't know if I can access a console at this point.

Im not sure if this is something I need to change after I've installed already, or if I need to change something with the img file before I install.

      edit: loader.conf, not boot.conf

What exactly do you think you need to add to that file?

Normally if you need to put a setting in, it would go in /boot/loader.conf.local

Before you put anything in that file, you should be absolutely certain of what you're doing and what the consequences could be.

That said, you can edit that file from Diagnostics > Edit File. It may not exist yet, so put in that path, click load, type in what you need, then save. Then reboot to activate the settings.

But I wouldn't take that last step until you know more about what you're doing there.

Ya you're right, I meant /boot/loader.conf.local, and I want to add 'hint.agp.0.disabled=1' Im having trouble with a pci nic being recognized.

Do you know where to access the diagnostics page? I cant get past the inital setup that you do on first boot.
