Nano install wont boot

    ive tried multiple times to load the vga 2.1.4 onto a usb stick which seems to work but then when i try to boot it i get to the bootloader that says pfsense F1 F2 but then it just continually posts ##### and never actually does anything. i even let it sit for a few hours last night just to see and all it did was fill the screen with #
    any ideas of where i should start?

      Usually a # is printed when the loader cannot address the partition from which it is supposed to boot. Often it is a problem with the BIOS.

        if i install the memstick version onto the same stick it seems to boot fine but i couldnt run it like that long term. would the bios still be a possibility in this case?

          Yes it's still possible for it to be the BIO. Depending on how the BIOS handles booting from USB devices it may not like the multiple slices that exist on NanoBSD
