      Hi,

Trying to export some data from rrdtool, but it seems the version in pfSense is a bit crippled? When I try to execute an rrdtool export, I get the error message,
ERROR: the instance of rrdtool has been compiled without graphics

I know it seems like an odd dependency (graphics), but it is part of xport. Any way to fix this?

      Thanks!

You can use "rrdtool dump" to export as XML in plain ASCII which can be restored with "rrdtool restore". There is no need to use xport.

Yep, agreed that works - but I have utilities based around json output … and dump also doesn't allow control of the time duration, step, etc.

          Thanks though!

You can restore the ASCII dump to another system with a full rrdtool setup and then export from that to your other tools that need json output and other controls.

One more thought on this - as I was able to build rrdtool with all the needed libraries … and I have those (shared) libraries in another folder. Is there an easy way to have pfSense / FreeBSD add another folder / path to the library search?

                Thanks!
