I would like to expand my DHCP-Range. From my understanding I can just change the Subnetmask to for example 255.255.252.0 and have a lot more devices access the Internet at the same time.

So my setup would be like this:
PfSense Router: 192.168.1.1 with a Subnetmask of 255.255.252.0
With this Setup some devices would get an IP-Adress like 192.168.2.1, can those still access the Internet?

What I am trying to achieve is that more devices than 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 can access the Internet at the same time.

I am new to this so please give me an easy explanation :)

Yes changing your network from /24 to a /22 or (255.255.252.0) would allow you to have more hosts on the same network.. Do you have anywhere close 1000 hosts which is what a /22 is..

If you have over the normal /24 or 254 addresses maybe a /23 would be better or 255.255.254.0 which would give you 510 addresses to use.

I think I am going to use a /23 then. Can all of those 510 addresses connect to the Internet?
