    Hi,

i just put together an old pc to use as a firewall (older system, athlon x2 4450e, 4gb ram nothing too fancy). i tried 2 cpu-s in it already and in both cases the temperature readings seem to be off. it detects the sensor, i can tell it reads ok the difference (gets hotter when warmer room temp) but the lower temperature seems too good to be true - considering it's 25C around here outside:

any thoughts? anyone else getting similar results? or is the sensor reading degrees above ambient instead?

Did you try playing with the temperature sensor settings?  Can't remember what menu it's in but there are a few options for it.

i did, yes, if i leave it default it is just stuck at 20C, intel doesn't work at all, and when set as amd it gives these results…

so a quick update… i changed the cpu fan and added some more case fans so now the temperatures hover around 10C according to the readings - definitely can't be a good reading... in bios the temps are correct (or look correct around 35-ish C which is normal for the cpu) so i'm guessing it's degrees above ambient or i need to add a default 20C?

anyone with a similar cpu/board (asus M3A78EMH_HDMI board + athlon x2 4450e) can confirm this?
