I have two networks - one local and one remote - connected via a site-to-site OpenVPN connection.

If I go to any machine and try to do PING by host name to a machine on the other network, it will fail because it can't resolve the name.  If I add the domain suffix to the host name and PING again, it correctly knows the IP.

Is there a way to not have to always specify the domain suffix?

      Thx

what client, sure you can create suffix search lists.. Is the OS of your client and can point you to the correct method.
