This is probably a very common problem.

I have a pfsense box w/ the following hardware:

      Supermicro x10SBA (non-l verison)
      Nics: intel i210
      4gb ddr3
      Toshiba 30gb msata ssd

One NIC is collected to my modem
One NIC is connected to my switch
Bios sees that they are connected.

      Trying pfsense 2.1.4

I've seen at least one person get this to work (version 2.1.2), so hopefually anyone w/ the X10sba or x10sba-l can help me out here.

I've installed pfsense & have no issues during that process. The issue is when I restart & try to set everything up.

I select no Vlans  & get the following message:

pfSense requires AT LEAST 1 assigned interface to function. If you do not have AT LEAST 1 interface you CANNOT continue

If you do not have at least one REAL network interface card or one interface with multipel VLANs, then pfSense WILL NOT function correctly.

I have pfSense auto-detect & it tells me there's no uplink detected.

Right, I get it, people have had issues getting Intel i210 nics working. Some have though, so maybe what I'm just making a really dumb mistake.

      Any ideas?

      Edit:

Got everything working. Installed 2.1.2 which wouldn't finish the install. Reflashed the flash drive to 2.1.4 & tried to install again. Everything worked. I have internet. This board works very well out of the box considering this is all new to me. :D

Mods can delete if needed. Sorry if this causes a problem.
