When i try to change from stable release to Next Major Release 2.4, the browser is loading for a minute or so, and then gives gateway timeout and setting is not changed.

Can i change this from ssh and what is causing it to timeout to change this setting from webgui?

Good thing it didnt work then.
But i still guess this problem will be present when the 2.4 build is fixed.

I wanted to upgrade to get openvpn 2.4 with aes-gcm as option.

According to page 5 in that thread, the problem has been solved.
But i still get a gateway timeout when trying to change from Stable to Latest Major 2.4.

Can this be changed from console or see as why i get timeout instead of changing the branch?

I had the same problem, and the thread linked above seems to be about some other issue entirely.

All I needed to do was reboot the device (SG-2440).  Afterwards, the branch change page was nice and snappy.
