      I've noticed that IGMP is flooding my logs.

      I've read through the following, but not sure why I would implement it.
      https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=134795.msg747740#msg747740

      Of note, 192.168.1.254 is my modem.
      192.168.1.65 is the wan address of the pfsense box.
      192.168.2.1 is the lan address of the pfsense box.

        You wouldn't unless you some sort of IPTV or something else that needed to proxy multicast through your wan, etc..

        224.0.01 doesn't tell you what it is exactly.. Could just be noise from your router you have in front of pfsense.  Which is what it is most likely..  Are you wanting to remove the log spam?  If so more than likely you have bogon to be blocked and logging - this is what is most likely logging the multicast traffic since that is in the bogon table.

          So I have the option of disabling IGMP traffic from the modem as that is the only thing in front of the pfsense box.
          Should I disable it?
          AFAIK, I do not have bogons blocked. The boxes are unchecked on both the interface/wan and interface/lan pages.

            So I shut down IGMP on my modem and the traffic went away.
            While I was in there I also shut down MLD.

              As stated above, do you running or using any kind of IPTV setop boxes inside of your pfSense LAN?

              But you should also understand that the most of us must imagine, what you have under your desk inside of your
              network you see it in real, we all not! Is there a IPTV box that is using or needing IGMPv3 or PIM routing?
              Perhaps something such the germany telkom entertainTV plus packet? Or any kind of audio/video receivers?

                  @mtarbox:

                  Then I would be trying turning it out!
